LedgerMatch
Xero bank reconciliation workflow
LedgerMatch supports a Xero workflow built around exports: compare a bank statement file with a Xero ledger or transaction export, review proposed matches and exceptions, then export the result for the next bookkeeping step.
1. Export the bank and Xero data
- Export the bank statement for the account and period you are reconciling.
- Export the corresponding Xero ledger or transaction data.
- Use CSV, TSV, or XLSX when downloading the files.
2. Map the transaction fields
Upload the statement and ledger files, then map the date, description, amount, debit, credit, and reference columns. LedgerMatch is built to handle different column names between exports.
3. Review the reconciliation
The matching workflow identifies likely matches from amount, date, and description signals. Keep unmatched transactions visible while you investigate timing differences, changed descriptions, duplicates, and split activity.
4. Export for the next Xero step
Export the reviewed reconciliation result for bookkeeping documentation or import preparation. LedgerMatch complements Xero; it is not a replacement for the Xero accounting system.
Frequently asked questions
Can LedgerMatch reconcile Xero exports without a live bank connection?
Yes. The workflow is based on a bank statement export and a Xero ledger or transaction export, so a live bank connection is not required for the file-based comparison.
Can LedgerMatch handle historical Xero transactions?
Yes. Historical statement and Xero transaction exports can be uploaded for comparison and review when the files cover the period you need.
