LedgerMatch

QuickBooks bank reconciliation workflow

LedgerMatch supports a QuickBooks workflow built around exports: compare a bank statement CSV with a QuickBooks ledger or register export, review the proposed matches, and prepare the result for the next QuickBooks step.

1. Export the two sides

  • Export the relevant bank statement transactions as CSV, TSV, or XLSX.
  • Export the matching QuickBooks ledger or register transactions for the same account and period.
  • Keep the statement date range and QuickBooks period aligned for easier review.

2. Upload and map columns

Upload both files to LedgerMatch. Map each file’s date, description, amount, debit, credit, and reference columns when prompted. The files can use different header names.

3. Match and review

LedgerMatch compares the exported rows using amount, date, and description signals. Review high-confidence matches, possible duplicates, split candidates, and every unmatched bank or ledger row before accepting the result.

4. Export the reviewed result

Export the reconciliation result and use it in the next QuickBooks review or import-preparation step. LedgerMatch does not replace QuickBooks or silently change the books.

Frequently asked questions

Does LedgerMatch connect directly to QuickBooks?

The core workflow starts with QuickBooks and bank exports. It is designed to support the reconciliation and export step without requiring a live bank connection.

Can I use LedgerMatch for a historical QuickBooks period?

Yes. If you can export the bank statement and the corresponding QuickBooks ledger or register transactions, LedgerMatch can compare the historical files for review.
