Citizens Bank CSV Export: Column Layout & Reconciliation Guide
Citizens Bank exports Credits before Debits — the reversed column order from most banks — and some branches produce Quicken format (.qfx) by default instead of CSV, requiring an extra download step. Any tool that maps split-amount columns by position rather than by header name will swap Credits and Debits, producing a ledger where every deposit is recorded as a withdrawal and vice versa. Common import issues
- Citizens Bank labels the columns Credits then Debits — the opposite display order from most banks (which show Debits first). Map carefully.
- Some Citizens Bank branches export in Quicken format by default — make sure to select CSV/spreadsheet format explicitly.
